Pancakes are a staple at my house. Of course we eat them for breakfast, but they also are a really good dinner in a pinch. My kids love to find out that we are having pancakes for dinner. One evening, I decided to add the bacon and sausage to the pancakes while they were cooking, my children lost their minds. They thought that it was the best idea that I have ever had. It is the perfect combo of sweet and savory. Fluffy pancakes, salty sausage and bacon, and pure maple syrup.

It took a few trials to get it just right. At first, I kept the sausage patties whole, and that did not work. Cutting the sausage into pieces, and scattering them over the batter was perfect.
Then I tried to use a whole strip of bacon. I thought that an oblong pancake would look cool. They were really hard to flip and the bacon would fall out of the center. I cut the strips in half, and they were just the right size. Next time, I think that I would chop up the bacon like I did the sausage.
Try adding some different ingredients to your pancakes the next time you make a batch. I think that your kids will be impressed like mine were.
