Fridge Fun Cups.

by Angie on April 28, 2009

Do you struggle with getting your allotted amount of water in per day? Do you find you lose track of how many cups you have had? What about the kids – do you feel it’s a battle when it comes to the amount of juice, milk, or more importantly water they are getting? I know we struggle with all of the above! I came up with a fun little idea not only for myself, but for our four year old, a visual reminder of sorts.

I call ‘em the fridge fun cups.

Nothin’ too special, just some little cups I created in photo shop, printed out and mounted on magnetic sheets. I leave mine clear (as I’m focusing on water consumption), but have colored in the munchkin’s to coordinate with his “daily drinks”. Something we seem to deal with is his love for strawberry milk. While I’m thrilled he is getting adequate dairy, the strawberry (though low in sugar) isn’t the greatest for him. This way, he sees the two pink cups (strawberry milk) and knows when he has finished both, that is it for the day. We even have a yellow colored cup for apple juice, when we happen to have that in the house. The big guy isn’t a huge fan of plain water either, sigh. He does prefer it ice-cold, so I add some of those cute little plastic ice cubes and he thinks those are pretty great. It is a work in progress, but the visual aid of his fridge fun cups seem to help tremendously.

What’s that? Oh you’d like some of your own fridge fun cups? I thought you might! Click the image for your free download.

Very cute idea! If I put enough of those on my fridge for all four kids, they would cover my fridge, lol. Love your creative mind!

This is such a cute idea. My son is all about strawberry milk too. We only let him have one, maybe two, cups per day also.

The problem I have with my kids is they are constantly drinking all day long. I can’t keep their sippy cups full. It doesn’t matter what it is either. They just want to be drinking something.

My husband and I joke around sometimes saying there is no way our kids could be dehydrated. :-)

I love this! With the summer months coming up and the hot weather, this nifty tip will do the trick. Thanks!

What a great idea! Too bad my stainless steel fridge won’t hold magnets! :(

What a fabulous idea! I was just reading about how kids can fill up on too much milk or juice and then not be hungry enough when a meal finally rolls around….this is one way to possibly avoid that. Not to mention a great idea for ME, who certainly has a problem getting enough water in every day.

This is GENIUS. I cannot wait to print one each for Things 1, 2, & 3 – will have to color two glasses silver for juice pouches! Thanks so much for sharing!
