I love how she just tells you how it is and doesn’t try to be all mysterious or secretive about her methods. How refreshing! She is one of my all-time favorites.

I loved this advice from her: ‘“If I were already successful and had all the clients I needed, would I take this job? Would I run this promotion?” Understandably, sometimes we just need the money, but always keeping in the forefront of your mind what you want your successful business to look like will guide your decisions and get you there much more quickly.’

Now this is a mentoring session I would love to attend! So many lightbulbs went off just by reading this interview. Questions to ask myself and thinking in a different way about what our portfolio’s say about ourselves as photographer’s. I want to print this interview and bring it out to read from time to time! Good stuff!

love that she said she loves the sitting/not moving baby stage…. definitely my fave! Especially now that my 11 month old is walking! So hard to get good photos until they are old enough to direct in sitting still again.

I love that she is completely honest with herself and others about how she does things,as well as how she feels. Alot of people these days are too fearful of what others may think to express how they really feel and to tell others the way they do things in business and their daily life. I appreciate an honest, confident person.

I am no professional photographer, only an avid ethusiast aspiring to be a photographer. I have no photography education behind me, I am learning by self-teaching and lots of research. I would be honored to read her material, since she has made a successful career with being self-taught and doing what she loves. Thats where I want to be, one day :) She is an inspiration to us aspirings.

Everything! And I thought the idea of checking Google StreetViews before a session was genius! I’m often traveling to places I’ve never been before and just trusting that I’ll find something. This is a much better idea!
