Last night, my husband and I were in the car, and he was telling me about his day. He told me about a speaker that came to his class and said, “the successful people in this world are the ones that outwork their talent”. It got me to thinking about how very true this statement is. There are millions of talented people in this world, but the ones that are truly successful are the ones that work their asses off.

Being talented is not enough. I wish that it was. To truly be successful and set yourself apart, you need to work.

Work harder.

Work longer.

Work more.

It does not come without sacrifice, but if you are willing to use your talents and work hard, success will come.

Thank you for this. My husband, a basketball coach, had a big game yesterday. I wrote the quote on his bathroom mirror as soon as I read the post. He loved it and used it as motivation for his team. It may just become the motto for their season!

This makes me so happy. Whenever I am ready to call it quits, or get down on myself, I remember this. It takes a lot of work to make it in this world.

Great post! I love that quote and reminds me that my dreams will not come true waiting for them to happen. I have to work to make them happen!
