    To stay sane, I try to simplify as much as possible. I also try to plan ahead and stick to my (realistic!) list of goals and to-dos day by day. I also make an advent calendar with prompts to enjoy the season each day. Simple things like, drink hot chocolate together, or go iceskating.

    I simplify my Christmas card list every year and scrub out folks from whom we haven’t heard in a few years. Fewer cards and postage. Plus, I streamline events like doing our annual family photo (professionally) and combining that with our Christmas card and gifts for all the grandparents and great grandparents (photobooks).

    Dear Holiday Hustle,
    Ohhhhh… I think the only thing that keeps me sane is remembering what is really important. Otherwise I take on WAYYYYY too much and we all suffer for it. Taking time to make lists, read to my kids and be a wee bit creative always help me catch my breath this time of year.
