We love granola at our house. I like to make my own, and love changing the flavors. One perfect for Christmas morning, a pumpkin variety, or variations of those recipes. I like to snack on granola by the handful, but my children really like granola in bar form. Here is a very easy recipe to turn your homemade (or storebought) granola into granola bars.
- 4 Tablespoons melted butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 cups granola
- 1 cup rice cereal
- pinch cinnamon
- 1/2 cup raisins (chips, nuts, or whatever addins you like
In a large bowl, combine your granola and raisins. Line two loaf pans with parchment paper. Spray lightly with cooking spray.
Melt together the butter, brown sugar, and honey.
Bring the mixture to a boil, and once it comes to a boil, reduce the heat to medium low, and cook for another 2 minutes.
Pour the butter mixture over the granola mixture.
Toss until everything is well coated. Press the granola into the loaf pans.
Let the bars set for 15 minutes. Slice and serve. You can wrap these in parchment for a lunchbox treat. Adapted from Rachel Ray.
