I’m back. Music from my soundtrack:

~ the excitement over the 4 quarters that the toothfairy brought
~ the clink and then the crying when one of those quarters fell in the toilet, as he peed.
~ the clicking of lego masterpieces being built
~the Backyardigans.
~ “Huper Hero!” as my daughter flies through the air, still not pronouncing her S’s
~ the happy chattering on the way to preschool
~ the Backyardigans (again)
~ the giggling in the bath tub
~ saying grace (the 3-year old’s turn)
~ reading bedtime stories

Thanks ladies for sharing your soundtracks, isn’t it ironic that the day I write about our daily music – mine would be filled with screaming and tears? :) Our oldest had a nasty fall, and the baby got accidentally whacked in the head with my big ole camera (insert horrible mom feeling). Oh well, they were then followed by the noises of cuddles and ice cream slurps! Fear not, our noises are not always “beautiful” but they are what we make them.

oh, i just love all those terms you’ve coined-”daily soundtrack” is awesome…sounds so much better than “screaming banchees”…

Beautiful!! I do love the sound of my husband and my 2 teenage boys playing xbox together. It makes me smile that they found something to do together that they all enjoy! My music is the xbox, dinosaur movies being played for my 3 year old (and of course dinosaur noices as he plays with his toy dinosaurs!), my daughter playing school or house, our dog barking at a cat in the neighbors yard. And so much more. Thanks for the great reminder and awesome quote by the way! :)

Angie, this post made me tear up. Especially this “No other person on this earth has the same soundtrack as you. ” This is my new favourite quote. I love the sounds of my boys playing in the basement, or watching the Cars movie for the millionth time. The dog’s nails clicking on the hardwood and the cardinals wailing outside. My world would feel so different if these sounds weren’t filling my ears each day!

Your soundtrack sounds a lot like mine. Husband leaving at an ungodly hour in the morning for work. One kid snoring in my ear this morning. The dog whimpering to be let out of his crate. I love those noises. Something would be wrong if I didn’t hear those sounds everyday.

When I came down to the kitchen this morning, I walked over to the radio to get some music going and stopped short. I changed my mind. I didn’t want to hear someone else making noise. I wanted to hear my kids upstairs making their own noise! You are so right. We all have our own soundtracks. I’m going to really try to appreciate mine today! Thanks for the inspiration!
