We were so impressed with your entries to our Red Challenge this week!  All your images of red have been so inspiring.  And as always, it was a tough contest to judge.

Here are a few of our most-loved photographs that represent The Color Red… (Scroll all the way down for the winner!)

From The Rancher’s Wife Kate… we just loved this sweet shade of red!Shades of Red

This cute belly, clothed in red stripes, was too precious not to share with you.  From grethelvanepps.

We loved all the different elements of red in this stunning image from Ava’s Mom07.  What a darling little girl!RED1

But this next one…. OH THIS NEXT ONE… was our favorite all around!  Congratulations, cmhalsey74!  Your image is the winner of our Red Challenge this week!

The varying tones and shades of red, the light, the focus, the creamy bokeh (oh my, the bokeh) and the overall feel of the image is just what we were looking for.  Beautiful job!
DripPlease email us at thecreativemama[dot]info[at]gmail[dot]com, and we will get your amazing prize sent out to you right away.

Remember, this week’s prize is a gorgeous mini-painting, valued at $115, from Flora Bowley, one of the amazing artists and teachers at The Makerie.

Another quick word about The Makerie… it is a wonderfully creative retreat being held in Boulder, CO this April, and it is designed to lovingly nurture the creative spirit in all of us.  The Makerie provides creative/crafting workshops in sewing, embroidery, knitting, painting, block printing, pattern making, photography, etc., and also offers yoga and hiking, and serves healthy, organic and local foods to you for the entire weekend.  The Makerie is a lovely weekend with no cooking, cleaning or errands… just creating and playing!  Click here, here and here to find out about Ali DeJohn and her team, and about this amazing four-day retreat!

If you’re still having fun with the color red, be sure and read Bree’s wonderful tutorial on photographing reds in your images.  It was a great article, and so helpful.

Thank you to everyone who entered our Red Challenge!  We are amazed by your talent!  Stay tuned until Wednesday, March 9, when we announce our next Photo Challenge.  It’s going to be a good one…
