Someone very dear recently told me, when one door closes another opens. Indeed it has. The Creative Mama has held a special place in my heart since her launch in January of 2009 and I thought just a few months ago that her time had come. In a way it had.

The Creative Mama that I bring you today has undergone a face lift in more ways than one. Multi-talented Marta Locklear is to thank for the incredible new look (if you are visiting via your reader, please do click over to take in the beauty that Marta has bestowed). However the community I give you goes far deeper.

It is with much love and warmth in my heart that I introduce you to eight brilliantly talented women, a team of writers who come together with a common purpose: Everyday living with a touch of creativity. I’ve hand-selected these beauties, each brings to the table many wonderful qualities and knowledge to share. Please take a few moments to read about them and check out their ‘home turf’. I’m quite looking forward to all that is in store here at The Creative Mama.

Welcome home friends, welcome home.

Angie Warren

The founder and editor of The Creative Mama, Angie is also mama to two very rambunctious boys and married to a baseball-loving, hard-working man. She finds that whether it be with her hands, her lens, or her mouse – creating is soothing, liberating, and something she desires to share with the world.

So very many things and people inspire her, and Angie is constantly on the lookout for creative ways to live our every day lives. It is her hope that you leave here with renewed inspiration of your own, and possibly the tools to get started on making your own creative journey through life.

Combining so many of her loves – writing, photography, creating of any sort, but ultimately bettering her every day and enjoying the simple things life offers, she warmly welcomes you to this community!

When not writing or chasing after her children, Angie can be found behind the lens of her camera. Visit her website, Angie Warren Photography to see her latest work.

Tisha McCuiston

Of all the hats she wears mother and wife would be Tisha’s favorite and most important. She loves her life and is truly passionately living each moment in color. For her this means savoring each moment she has with her children and family. Getting to know her clients as people, and more often than not, as friends. They allow her into their homes and lives and Tisha tries her hardest to capture their moments with the same attention to detail she gives her own family photos.

She often refers to herself as the most Un-traditional Traditionalist she knows.  Tisha homeschools her children, she cooks just about everything from scratch, gardens, sews, cans their food… according to Tisha, “You would think I go around wearing my hair in a bun and wearing dresses all day long.  But that is soooo far from who I am.  Maybe it is doing all these things in today’s age that makes me more untradtional?”

Tisha finds just about everything interesting and for some reason most will tell her their life story within the first few hours of knowing her. She finds everyone’s life story fascinating and thinks everyone has a life story worth telling and having heard. Most of her friends will tell you she have never met a stranger. Tisha’s photography and love of all things has taken her to places, and countries she would never have thought a camera could take me.  Life is truly a surprise and she is all about capturing it and telling a story with her images.  Letting life take her where it will.

Tisha’s delicious photos can be found at Tisha McCuiston Photography!

Thea Kohlhepp

Words that have been used to describe Thea: efficient (does not like to waste time), organized (she says it is an obsession), and sensitive (she has been known to cry during commercials). Currently, she is residing in South Carolina with her husband and 2 children, working as a full-time teacher where her children attend school.  As a family, they enjoy grilling outdoors, discovering new parks, and taking road trips.

Thea’s desire is to contribute to The Creative Mama by encouraging others to find inspirational moments that happen in an ordinary way: driving the kids to school, drinking your favorite coffee, wearing a comfy sweater, or reading that worn out paperback for the third time. One of her favorite movie quotes is “Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what your gonna get.” Forrest Gump simply states that life is full of surprises. Thea has learned to appreciate those surprises, good or bad, because she know that she is going to grow and learn from each experience. Her passion for blogging has taught her to take ‘snapshots’ of her days by seeing the inspiration beyond the lens.

Visit Thea’s blog Ordinary Inspirations and get to know the woman behind the blog.

I am not a mother and yet I subscribe to the RSS feeds for your post and I was sad when I though that The Creative Mama was ending. I have younger siblings that range from 4 to 15 and I would always forward my mom things from your website. I also use the other parts of the site for myself such as tips on organization, sustainability, and various projects. So I’m thankful that its still here in a new way. Please continue with the amazing work that you do and welcome all the new writers! I look forward to many more post.
