A few days ago, I bought myself and a friend the cutest camera straps ever. They came from Ruthanne’s store and they were even cuter in person. Bright colors, cute ruffles, and the best part is that they are lightly padded so they do not hurt your neck. I got the Josie Geller and my friend got Ever After. Totally love them. I looked at the business card in the package and looked up her blog, I noticed that Ruthanne has the cutest space to work in and I asked her if she would like to share it with us. Thank you Ruthanne.

My studio doubles as a guest bedroom, so I’ve had to be open-minded and creative about my set-up and system.
I have a shelving unit for all finished products that are ready-to-ship and just waiting to find a new home. I have another shelving unit for cut fabric waiting to be sewn, a tin for all my receipts and a few odds and ends needed for the sewing machine. I like having a lamp close to the sewing machine for extra light.
Instead of throwing out empty spools of thread, I like to keep some and wrap scraps of fabric around them. It adds a burst of character and a smidgen of color and fun to a somewhat bland room.
Last year at Blissdom, I won a door-prize at the (In)Courage Beach Party. I picked out the little wood stand that says, “We believe in Grace and the One who gives it.” Sometimes it’s nice to look over and see that staring at me in the face. Especially, when I feel like slamming my machine against the wall or something. Not that I’ve ever thought about doing that. *averts eyes*
The ironing board never gets put away. It just adds to the general splendor of the room. Or something like that.
The table is home to my extra-large cutting mat. I. Love. This. Mat. I’ve been using it for almost eight years now. One of the best purchases I’ve ever made for my sewing room.
I keep all of my mailing supplies stowed underneath the table ~ envelopes, tape, tissue paper, scissors, ribbon, biz cards, etc.
The guest bed is not only good for sleeping in, but is also a useful spot to keep products waiting to have tags sewn on. I’m all about multi-functionality.
I love that I have a spot where I can shut the door at the end of the day if I want to. I’m not always disciplined about picking up after myself, so the mess and chaos can really pile up. I also love the fact there’s a bed, which means if I want to take a nap I can. {Completely serious}

My family is a modern day Brady Bunch.
When hubby and I met, I was a single mother of one and he was a single father of three. Now, after thirteen years of marriage, we’ve added four more children to our number and become convinced of the necessity of caffeine!

I am passionate about my Lord, my husband (aka the French teacher ~ it’s okay if you’re slightly jealous), and my children.
I homeschool.
I’ve been known to eat chocolate chips straight out of the bag.
I’m having a love affair with my sewing machine, which is how my shop was born.
I listen to classical music.
I love the arts.
I devour good literature.
I’m a compulsive baker.
I heart old, B&W movies.
I think my husband is sexy.
I love him. Like a lot.
My drug of choice is the Caramel Macchiato from Starbucks (Grande, please).
Show tunes make me happy.
I enjoy hiding behind my Nikon.
I dearly love to laugh.
I feel blessed beyond measure to do what I do.
